
On March 27th Sea Marconi submitted its proposal, BiOxy3D, in response to the “Innova for Italy” call of the Ministry for technological innovation and digitization. Sea Marconi has fully embraced the intentions of the Ministry initiative, which wants to collect companies, universities, public and private research centers, associations, foundations, etc., contributions for prevention, diagnostics and monitoring for containment and contrast to Coronavirus.
BiOxy3D is the sustainable technological solution of BioDisinfection and BFV Integrated Treatment of bacteria, fungi and viruses, developed by the scientific cooperation (since 2009) of Sea Marconi Technologies (Turin-Italy) with prof. S. Kapila of the University of Missouri (Rolla-USA); the technology, currently being patented, has currently been successfully demonstrated in the laboratory and aims to reach the market in 3/6 months with the joint effort of a network of qualified partners and start-ups.
BiOxy3D is a radical innovation, in detail it is a device that, starting from supermarket vegetable oils (INPUT-Food Grade), through a “Precision Catalyzed Thermochemical Conversion” generates a bio disinfectant vapor (OUTPUT), killer of bacteria , fungi and viruses. The non-toxic and non-carcinogenic vapor is able to completely (3D) saturate the (internal) environments including the ventilation channels in a fast, effective (slightly below laboratory evidence) and sustainable way. BiOxy3D also includes a quality control, performance and traceability service for each treatment performed.
The strengths of BiOxy3D do not stop with those listed above, the device that generates the steam is portable (less than 5Kg), compact (1000 x 100 mm), fast (5 min), autonomous (batteries (24/48 Volt ), easy and flexible, equipped with a digital supervision and remote control system, in addition to the possibility of adjusting the temperature and humidity of the disinfection treatment based on the surfaces and devices (e.g. electronic) present in the environment.
As for the “disinfectant” efficacy, laboratory results have shown that most of the viruses (also tested on a H1N1 surrogate) are eliminated in 5 seconds, while the bacteria (E. Coli – ATCC25922; salmonella, micrococcus luteus; klebsiella pneumonia) are killed at 99.99% within 20 min. It has also been found that BiOxy3D disinfectant vapors can effectively permeate materials such as paper and clothing while maintaining, unlike other agents, excellent antimicrobial activity.
Typical applications of BiOxy3D (by Sea Marconi) are urban and hospital waste chains, defense industries and buildings, means of transport (trains, ships, planes, metro, etc.), public places and buildings, structures health; emergency vehicles, police and civil protection, breeding and agri-food chains; museums, libraries, etc.
