Dissolved gas analysis (DGA) in oil-filled transformers [2 days]

The amount of dissolved gas in transformer oil (or other electrical equipment) is the main indicator of electrical or thermal anomalies in the equipment and its accessories. For this reason, dissolved gas analysis (DGA) is one of the most important measures in life cycle management (LCM) of different electrical equipment with insulating fluids.

The reference standard is IEC 60599:2015 “Mineral oil-filled electrical equipment in service – Guidance on the interpretation of dissolved and free gases analysis”. Dissolved gas analysis, or rather correct interpretation of dissolved gas analysis, is able to provide valuable information on the state of health of equipment with insulating oil.Moving from analytical results to useful information and correct maintenance strategy is not easy.

Course participants will be able to benefit from Sea Marconi’s experience; in 2017 alone, our laboratory performed dissolved gas analysis more than 11,400 times (with as many diagnostic interpretations). Furthermore, the dissolved gas test is one of Sea Marconi’s accredited tests, meaning that those tests are subjected to strict controls by an independent third-party body (ACCREDIA), thereby guaranteeing the highest standards of quality in both procedural and purely analytical terms.
