IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) recently awarded to Mr Vander Tumiatti the “1906 Award”, a greatly valued price underlining once more the dedication and the results obtained in the domain of corrosive sulfur.
Vander Tumiatti has be chosen for “the precious contribution to the understanding of the potentially corrosive behaviour of mineral insulating oil used in power transformers and for his discoveries, recognised worldwide, in the development of diagnostic chemical analyses”.

Subject: 1906 Award
Dear Sir,
As you may be aware, the Officers of the International Electrotechnical Commission (lEC) created the 1906 Award to commemorate the founding of the Commission and to honour those who have made an exceptional recent technical contribution to the development of a specific lEC work project. This is now the fifth occasion on which the annual awards have been made.
I should like to congratulate you on being among the experts involved in the lEC’s technical work who are being presented this year with the 1906 Award, following nomination by the officers of your technical committee/subcommittee. The Award recognizes the major input you have made to furthering standardization and related activities in the field of electrotechnology. On behalf of the lEC President and all the other lEC Officers, I express our sincerest appreciation of your past and future contributions to our technical work.
Please feel at liberty to advise your management, or any other appropriate persons, that the lEC is presenting you with this Award – indeed we would encourage you to do so.
Yours sincerely,
A. Amit
