IEC 62697 Standard focused on corrosive sulfur and on the determination of sulfurised components

Last August, a new and really useful norm has been published to better understand the “corrosive sulfur problem”; it is IEC 62697 ed.1 entitled “Test methods for quantitative determination of corrosive sulfur compounds in unused and used insulating liquids”. Particularly enlightening is the introduction of the standard (downloadable for the IEC website), in which, for the first time in the normative field, the DBDS

Sea Marconi develops a new method for SF6 dissolved in oil

Sea Marconi has developed and validated an innovative method for the determination of both normal dissolved gases (DGA) and SF6 dissolved in mineral insulating oil. Thanks to a very advanced instrumental configuration it is possible to identify in a punctual manner particular troubles that could occur in bushings with oil and SF6 separated by a membrane. Thus, the contamination by SF6
